Full wave rectifier lab manual

The circuit of a center-tapped full wave rectifier uses two diodes D1D2. During positive half cycle of secondary voltage (input voltage), the diode D1 is forward biased and D2is reverse biased. The diode D1 conducts and current flows through load resistor RL. During negative half cycle, diode D2 becomes forward biased and D1 reverse biased. The full wave rectifier circuit consists of two power diodes connected to a single load resistance (RL) with each diode taking it in turn to supply current to the load. When point A of the transformer is positive with respect to point C, diode D1 conducts in the forward direction as indicated by the arrows. When point B is positive (in the negative half of the cycle) with respect to point C. The full wave rectifier consists of two half wave rectifier circuits with common load. These are connected in such a way that conduction takes place through two diodes in alternate half-cycles and current through the load is sum of two currents.

Rectifier broadly divided into two categories: Half wave rectifier and full wave rectifier. Working principle of half wave rectifier: In half wave rectifier only half cycle of applied AC voltage is used. Another half cycle of AC voltage (negative cycle) is not used. Only one diode is used which conducts during positive cycle. Full Wave Rectifier Lab Manual. by www.doorway.ru · Septem. FULL WAVERECTIFIERCIR CIRUITS AIM.
